The Centro Cultural Moncloa in Madrid is hosting the exhibition Pilar de Valderrama en Pintor Rosales (1889-1979). Un paseo por la poesía, el teatro y el amor, which will remain open to the public until 30 June and includes hitherto unpublished documentation rescued from the writer’s personal and family archives.
The exhibition consists of several different sections, in which the members of this family, which contributed to forging the cultural and literary history of Spain during the last century, will be highlighted. There will also be three cultural events related to the exhibition, a poetic-musical recital on 11 May at 7 p.m., with the presentation of Evocación, a poetic anthology by Pilar de Valderrama. Piano, Ernesto Monsalve, and cello, Eva Helena García; a dramatised reading of the play El sueño de las tres princesas, by Pilar de Valderrama on 2 June at 7 p.m., and Pintor Rosales, un siglo después, a poetic-musical recital on 16 June at 7 p.m., a tribute to Pilar de Valderrama and all the women of her time who, like her, were relegated to anonymity.
