The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Arancha González Laya, received the new Director of the European Commission, María Ángeles Benítez Salas, in her office yesterday, and welcomed her to the post, according to her Twitter account.
María Ángeles Benítez, who took up the post at the beginning of April, replacing Francisco Fonseca, has had various contacts throughout the month, including with the Second Vice-President and Minister for Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, Nadia Calviño, with whom she analysed Spain’s Plan to boost recovery after the COVID.
He also met with the chair of the Joint Committee on the EU, Susana Sumelzo, and launched weekly videos, the first of which was dedicated to the Future of Europe Conference.
