On the occasion of the preview of the Spanish-Argentine film Crónica de una tormenta (2020), Casa América is organising a dialogue this afternoon at 18:30 hours after the screening on The vertigo of the opera prima.

The event will talk about the challenges of making a first feature film, and the film adaptation of a play. Mariana Barassi, scriptwriter and director, and Clara Lago, actress, will take part. Moderator: Carla Guimarães, journalist, playwright and film and television scriptwriter. Crónica de una tormenta tells how Antonio, the director of an important newspaper, must choose his successor: Macarena (Clara Lago), a woman who is committed to cooperation and not to verticality in the workplace, will compete against the other deputy director, Vargas (Quique Fernández), a manipulative journalist who knows it all. The night that Antonio tells Macarena about the selection process, both are locked in the newspaper because of a heavy storm, and in the course of that night they will talk in depth, discuss and reveal transcendental questions about life, journalism, love, death and sex.
