Author: Luis Melgar.
Hail, O Aton, you who appear resplendent in heaven. I, Mutnodjemet, slave, priestess, prostitute and queen, have practised your faith in secret and have never ceased to worship you. Today I prostrate myself before you to ask that, in your kingdom, you grant me to be reunited with my sister. She who must be forgotten. The traitor, the heretic, the usurper. The one who always protected me and whom I failed to save from death. Nefertiti. My sister represented everything I wanted to be. As a child, I often prayed to the gods, begging them to mould me in their image and to bless me with their extraordinary beauty. What I never wanted was to share that strange prophecy that marked us forever: we would both become queens. This is our story.
