The Instituto Cultural Rumano of Madrid, in collaboration with the Instituto Francés of Madrid, with the support of the Sergiu Celibidache Foundation, is organising next Friday at 7 p.m. at the headquarters of the the Instituto Francés of Madrid, a conference in homage to the Romanian maestro Sergiu Celibidache, moderated by Gonzalo Pérez Chamorro, editor of the magazine RITMO.
The event will take place as part of the Fête de la Francophonie 2021, one of the largest cultural diplomacy programmes organised each year by the French-speaking countries in Spain. During the conference, relevant excerpts from the documentary film Celibidache’s Garden (1997), directed by Serge Ioan Celebidachi, will be screened with Spanish subtitles. Admission to the lecture is free, although booking is recommended at the following link. Invited to the event are Enrique García Asensio, conductor, disciple of Celibidache and author of the book on Sergiu Celibidache’s technique Dirección musical: la técnica de Sergiu Celibidache; Vicente Chuliá, Spanish conductor, composer, professor and philosopher of music; Serge Ioan Celebidachi, the son of the conductor, producer and director of the documentary film, who will participate by streaming from Bucharest.
