Spanish exports from the agri-food, fisheries and forestry sector reached 40,997 million euros in the period from April to December 2020, compared to 39,905 million in the same period of 2019, an increase of 2.7%.
This is the result of the COVID Report – Foreign Trade, situation of the agri-food and fisheries sector, which analyses the effect of the pandemic on this sector during the months following the first declaration of the state of alarm and its comparison with the same period of the previous year, as reported yesterday by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.
The increase in agri-food exports contrasts with the figures for exports of all sectors of the economy in the same period, which stood at 192,727 million euros, with a decrease of 11.8% compared to the previous year.
Imports from the agri-food, fisheries and forestry sector fell by 8%, from 29,418 million euros to 27,048 million euros. The resulting balance increased by 33% to 13,949 million euros.
