This week’s cultural programme at Casa Mediterráneo begins this afternoon at 7 p.m. with the participation of the Director General of Economic Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, Luis Óscar Moreno García-Cano (in the photo), to review Spanish economic diplomacy in the Mediterranean in a new session of Economy and the Mediterranean.
Music and literature will merge on 10 February at the same time with the presentation of the book Mediterráneo, un mar de músicas, by the writer and anthropologist Jordi Alsina with illustrations by Lluís Ràfols, whose pages contain a compilation of the Mediterranean musical tradition, ranging from Spanish flamenco to Greek kritiká, and including Italian tarantella and Maghrebi rai. Also, on Friday 12th, there will be a screening of the second part of the documentary Algèria, el meu país. Història i memòria de l’emigració valenciana a Orà i Alger, the first part of which was very well received last week. Finally, the representative of UN Women in Tunisia and Libya, Begoña Lasagabaster, will take part in the Women and the Mediterranean cycle on 15 February to explain the social and aid work carried out by this United Nations organisation in the female environment of Arab societies.
