In collaboration with the Centre for Strategic Studies in Sanaa, tomorrow, 12 January, at 6pm, Casa Árabe is offering the Yemen under scrutiny conference live on its Youtube channel in English, with Spanish interpretation.
The Yemenis are already facing what the UN has classified as the world’s worst humanitarian crisis, and everything seems to indicate that their suffering will only increase as more local communities are forced to take sides. In the continued absence of an agreement, and with the forces of the so-called Arab Coalition (Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates) greatly reduced, local actors are now positioning themselves for a war on behalf of their external sponsors. Marginalised in the international headlines, the country deserves an in-depth analysis of the path and interference that have led it to this alarming situation and of the uncertain future of its people. Taking part in the event will be Farea Al-Muslimi, director and co-founder of the Centre for Strategic Studies in Sanaa, Ghaithaa Alrashidy, researcher and visual data specialist at the same think-tank, and the journalist Natalia Sancha, contributor to El País, who has done special coverage of Yemen at the end of 2020. Presented by Karim Hauser, International Relations Coordinator of Casa Árabe.
