On the occasion of the International Day of the Francophonie 2026, next Friday 20 March at 7:30 p.m., the Instituto Francés of Spain, in collaboration with the French-speaking embassies, proposes a festive and participatory day in Madrid that will combine culture, gastronomy and play.
Through a gastronomic fair and an outdoor escape game, the public will be able to discover the richness, diversity and values of the francophone world from both a culinary and recreational perspective.
Venture through the streets of Madrid and live a unique experience inspired by the Francophonie, this is the interactive outdoor game that the Institute proposes and which will test your ingenuity and collaboration while discovering curiosities and traditions of the French-speaking countries.
Participants will have the opportunity to delve into the world of francophone countries and the International Organization of la Francophonie (OIF) through a fun and immersive tour. Divided into teams, they will have to demonstrate ingenuity, creativity and solidarity in order to overcome the challenges that will be presented to them: solve puzzles, decipher clues and unveil the secrets of the Francophonie hidden in the streets of Madrid.
Beyond the game itself, this activity will be an opportunity to highlight the richness and diversity of the francophone world and allow everyone to gain a greater knowledge of Francophonie and its values.

There will also be a Food Fair on the same day. Have you ever dreamed of trying fondue and tajine at the same time? To taste a hibiscus juice, a mint tea and, for dessert, a Liège waffle? The gastronomic fair of the Francophonie invites you to a tour through the most authentic flavors of various Francophone embassies.
Each embassy will present at a stand a selection of culinary specialties representative of their country. Along the stands, visitors will be able to discover and taste the richness and variety of Francophone cuisines. Hot or cold dishes, drinks and sweets, there will be something for everyone. Because gastronomy is also a powerful bridge of encounter and exchange, through this event, the diversity and spirit of sharing that define and enrich the Francophonie will be celebrated.
