<h6><strong>The Diplomat</strong></h6> <h4><strong>The Polish Cultural Institute, the Embassy of Argentina, and Daniel Calleja y Crespo, Director of the European Commission Representation in Spain, have been awarded the first edition of <em>The Diplomat in Spain 2025</em> International Awards. The awards ceremony will take place this coming Monday, November 24, at the Gran Meliá Fénix Hotel in Madrid, at 7:00 p.m., presided over by the State Secretary for Foreign and Global Affairs, Diego Martínez Belío.</strong></h4> The objective of this award is to recognize, highlight, and value the work carried out by embassies, international institutions, and foreign organizations in Spain, emphasizing those projects that strengthen bilateral relations, promote cultural and economic cooperation, and contribute to understanding between countries. The jury for the first edition of <em>The Diplomat in Spain 2025</em> International Awards was composed of Charles Powell, Director of the Elcano Royal Institute; Irene Lanzaco, president of the Association of Information Media (AMI); Abraham Duarte, rector of Rey Juan Carlos University; Jesús González Mateos, editorial director of <em>The Diplomat in Spain</em>; and Asela Pintado, president of Prensamedia. In this first edition, the winners of the two main categories are: <strong>Cultural Diplomacy Award</strong> <strong>Polish Institute of Culture, for the project "The Polish Boom: The New Cultural Wave Shaken by Spain."</strong> This ambitious program, developed in 2025 to coincide with Poland's presidency of the Council of the European Union, has unfolded a wide-ranging calendar of cultural activities in more than eight Spanish cities. Through literature, music, film, theater, comics, and visual arts, the project has presented the public with an image of contemporary, diverse, and innovative Poland, promoting European values such as dialogue, inclusion, and cooperation. Among its initiatives, the play Libido Romántica, performed by actors with Down syndrome, stood out, as well as exhibitions, film series, and concerts by prominent Polish artists. The project has fostered collaboration between cultural and academic institutions in both countries and has demonstrated a sustained impact on promoting Polish culture in Spain, consolidating culture as a key tool for diplomacy and mutual understanding. <strong>Economic Diplomacy Award</strong> <strong>Embassy of Argentina in Spain, for the project "Argentine Week in Spain."</strong> Held from March 3 to 10 in Barcelona and Madrid, this initiative highlighted the Argentine business, entrepreneurial, and cultural presence in Spain, strategically coinciding with the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona and the ARCO art fair in Madrid. Organized by Marca País Argentina (Argentina Country Brand), the Argentine Trade and Investment Agency, the Secretariat of Culture, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, together with the Embassy of Argentina in Madrid, Argentine Week aimed to strengthen bilateral relations and promote alliances with the Spanish market. In total, 92 Argentine brands participated, and 221 points of sale were activated throughout Spain, the Balearic Islands, and the Canary Islands, with commercial and business promotion activities that achieved significant international visibility for the country. <strong><em>The Diplomat in Spain</em> Special Award</strong> During the event, <em>The Diplomat in Spain</em> Special Award will also be presented to Daniel Calleja y Crespo, Director of the European Commission Representation in Spain, in recognition of his career and contribution to the institutional and European sphere.
