The Centro Cultural Coreano presents the closing concert of the Korea 2025 Classical Music Cycle, entitled ¡Bis! , which will feature the outstanding cellist Minjoung Kim, accompanied by pianist Junhyung Kim.
This event will take place on Friday, November 14 at 12 hours in the auditorium of the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando (calle de Alcalá 13) and will be broadcast live through the institution’s YouTube channel.
This year’s edition, under the motto ¡Bis! brings together artists who have previously performed in Spain invited by the Centro Cultural Coreano. In the case of Minjoung, he performed in Madrid and Avilés in 2019 together with his fellow Korean musicians from the Reina Sofia Music College. During the concert you can hear works by Alberto Ginastera (1916-1983), Manuel de Falla (1876-1946) and Felix Mendelssohn (1809-1847).
Minjoung Kim (pictured) is a South Korean cellist known for her expressive art and brilliant technique. He started his vocational training at the age of 13 with Professor Myung-Wha Chung, and since then has been winning first places in national competitions in South Korea. He made his recital debut at Seoul’s Kumho Art Hall in 2004.
Junhyung Kim was born in 1997, in Seoul. He began studying piano at the age of 10, and is currently studying under Professor Severin von Eckardstein at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln.
The Korea Classical Music Cycle was created in 2018 by the Centro Cultural Coreano in Spain with the aim of making Korean performers known in Europe through concerts in Spain. This cycle is part of the Korea Season project, promoted by KOFICE and the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism that annually promotes Korea’s cultural and artistic diversity in strategic countries. The Korea Season project is held in Spain throughout 2025 with a varied programming that includes music, cinema, literature, visual arts, dance and more.
