Eduardo González

The Japanese government has appointed Hiroshi Yamauchi as Japan's new ambassador to Spain, according to the Kyodo news agency.
Hiroshi Yamauchi, whose appointment was officially announced last Friday, previously served as ambassador to Argentina. Yamauchi, 60, joined the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1987. He had been ambassador to Buenos Aires since September 2022 and previously served as director general of the Ministry's Intelligence and Analysis Service. Hiroshi Yamauchi succeeds Takahiro Nakamae, who had been stationed in Madrid since September 2022. Interestingly, Nakamae was also appointed ambassador to Spain immediately after taking up his position at the Embassy in Argentina, where he was replaced by Hiroshi Yamauchi.
