‘Nobody knows what a snail suffers’, at the Teatro del Barrio

The Teatro del Barrio (calle Zurita, 20) presents the next Saturday 20 September at 13 hours the play Nadie sabe lo que sufre un caracol (Nobody knows what a snail suffers).

This is not a poetry recital. It’s not a show, or a show, or a concert, or a performance. It’s not theater. This is an invitation to my house, to my body. To the body of all women. To the body of my mother, my sister, my friends. This is opening the doors of my bedroom desk, my loneliness, the empty fridge and sometimes my grandmother’s fridge full of food. This is my living room, my table stretcher and at times my dark room. What I don’t want to be seen, what I hide, what I never said and wanted to pronounce.

The -no recital- of Clara Chacón is born through texts from her last book of poems What will remain tomorrow, in which we immerse ourselves in a reflection on women, the society that pushes us, the male gaze, grief, image and relationships.

The live music of Graciela Doniz accompanies and wraps the scene. Being a character in the narrative. Tickets can be purchased at this link.
