Free buffet is the title of the exhibition that the Centro Cultural CentroCentro presents on its 3rd floor until next September 28. Free entry.
Fueradcarta is a genuinely Madrilenian publishing project born in 2017 under the baton of artists Patricia Mateo and José Luis López Moral. The publisher aims from its origins to create an atlas of the current artistic scene in our country, offering limited editions of artist’s books at an affordable price.
Each edition consists of a hundred booklets numbered and signed by the artist, each accompanied by an original work. Its main objective is to disseminate the work of Spanish creators in a different way. The publishing house Fueradcarta started almost a decade ago after several experiments with desktop publishing by its creators, who then bet on carrying out a mapping of the artists that were closest to them. In this way, it gives rise to a first stage with the first numbers, as Mateo and López del Moral point out, “more amateur”. Over time, both have had access to all kinds of creators, ranging from mid-career ones such as Estefanía Martín Sáinz, Santiago Ydáñez or Rosalía Banet to the more established ones such as Rafael Canogar or Roberto González Fernández, not forgetting young people such as Jan Matthewws and Silvia Lermo.
Its main purpose is to promote collecting from small works of contemporary artists, showing through these publications the different currents of current Spanish art. The seventy-one editions published so far (their mission is to reach a hundred) thus collect the current trends in contemporary art in Spain, through the eyes of its creators.
The exhibition Buffet free aims to bring the general public to the almost decade of life of this small publishing house, a review of all its numbers that also allow to make a still photo of the Spanish artistic scene in recent years.
