The Polish photographer Marcin Ryczek participates in the official section of the festival PHotoESPAÑA 2025 with the exhibition Symbols, which can be visited from July 18 to October 5 at the Palacio Quintanar in Segovia (C/ San Agustín, s/n).

In his series of photographs, Marcin Ryczek (Lublin, Poland, 1982) explores the power of symbols, their cultural significance and their influence on the perception of reality in different contexts. Photographs, although minimalist, are carriers of a multidimensional narrative in which geometric compositions, color contrasts and the natural arrangement of elements refer to universal ideas: identity, balance, limits, transience, the relationship between man and nature, or tradition and modernity.

The photographs refer to familiar symbols, such as national flags, but also other metaphorical references, whether they are inspired by graphics and geometric shapes or philosophical ideas. In fact, the interpretations of this work can flow from a feeling of hope and closeness to nature to a deep reflection on the loneliness and fugacity of time.

This approach with keywords such as symbols, photography, reality, identity, nature and philosophy can improve the visibility of content in search engines related to art, conceptual photography and philosophical topics.

One of Marcin Ryczek’s most recognizable photographs, A Man Feeding Swans in the Snow, has won numerous awards in prestigious international competitions and is included in the collection of the National Library of France and the collection of the Silesian Museum. One of the most influential US portals, The Huffington Post, named this photograph one of the best in the world in 2013. In 2017, the photograph appeared on the cover of David Gibson’s 100 Great Street Photographs.
