The Embassy of Angola presented last Friday an enel business brunch that was attended by many executives and CEOs of companies already working in Angolan lands and others who came to receive information to invest in these Central African lands.

In a meeting that also included the commemoration of the fiftieth anniversary of the National Independence of Angola, held on 11 November, Ambassador Balbina Malheiros Dias Da Silva noted that “today we do not celebrate only an institutional event, today we forge with closeness the spirit of cooperation, a shared ambition, transform the economic relationship between our countries in a solid, balanced and transformative alliance.”

“We talk about action, we also talk about vision, continued the Angolan ambassador. Angola is at a stage of profound economic and social transformation. Structural reforms have been promoted, institutional stability has been consolidated and a clear commitment to sustainable, inclusive and global development has been reaffirmed.”

“In his recent speech at the International Conference on Development, President João Lourenço emphasized a truth that I reiterate here today: there can be no development without peace, nor peace without economic justice. This is why Angola advocates a growth model that leaves no one behind, invests in infrastructure, promotes employment, encourages productive investment and places Africa as the protagonist and not just as the recipient of productive investment, in the global financial architecture,” said Balbina Malheiros Dias Da Silva.

Referring to the event being presented, the ambassador stressed that “has precisely this vocation, to be a bridge between complementary reality, between a country, Spain, with valuable business experience and a great capacity for innovation, and a country, Angola, with young resources, with youth, ambition and a strong commitment to the African Union’s Agenda 2063″.

The ambassador concluded her address by reaffirming that “this diplomatic mission is fully available to work with interested companies in Angola, not only as an institutional point of contact but also as a strategic partnership. Economic and trade diplomacy is not a pride, it is a responsibility. And in this diplomatic team we assume this responsibility with conviction and pride. Angola is not only a destination for investment, it is a land of opportunity. A country that has decided to take the agendas of its future with dignity, transparency and the will to establish genuine and lasting partnerships. As President Lourenço said, ‘Africa has the resources and the determination to transform’.”

After the ambassador’s speech, the trade attaché of the diplomatic mission spoke about the economic environment and priority sectors, highlighting “the stability and transformative ambition of an Angola that opens itself to the world. More than 30 Spanish companies are already working in our country”.

Also present at the event was the Secretary General for Mediterranean Countries, Africa and the Middle East of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of Spain, Ana de Vicente Lancho, who stressed “the excellent relations between the two countries”, with  “a lot of dynamism, which makes Angola on the list of priority countries for Spain”.

The company Loarves then spoke about the history of women’s leadership in the construction sector in Angola, to then be exposed the investment market in the Central African country, highlighting experiences, perspectives and challenges.

For its part, the SATIC group spoke about the Spanish technology market in the process of diversification of the Angolan economy, to end with the experience of Murcia in the Central African country with the Iber Angola Union Company,  commenting on the prospects for the development of the Angolan agricultural sector.

Finally, the presentation was made by the Federation of Bilateral Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Angola (FCBCIA representative for Europe).
