The Diplomat

Yesterday took place the colloquium entitled The Bourbons in Spain: from Felipe V to Felipe VI, organized by The Diplomat in Spain, the Association of Foreign Diplomats (ADE) and Meliá Hotels, led by the professor of History and Doctor of Journalism at CEU-San Pablo, Cristina Barreiro.

On this occasion, the meeting welcomed a large number of diplomats and ambassadors interested in the history of Spain and, in particular, of the Royal House of the Bourbons, which has reigned in our country since 1700, when Felipe V came to the throne. At the end of the exhibition of professor Cristina Barreiro there was a very interesting round of questions that put a golden cap to the event.

The next meetings with these tertulias will be continued from the month of September, and until the end of the year topics on the role of Turkey and the UN in the international scene, the history of Denmark  (who presides over the Council of the European Union during the second half of the year) and international economic news, among others, a new appointment with the speakers who have already told us about the tariffs that Donald Trump is imposing on the rest of the world and its consequences on the global economy and on the American economy in particular.

The Diplomat’s Tertulias have been held regularly for years and address different aspects of politics, economy and society in Spain and abroad. Its objective is to offer foreign diplomats different approaches and points of view on aspects of the Spanish and world reality, under the condition of strict confidentiality of what is discussed in the room.
