Before a large number of guests, the Embassy of Uruguay celebrated with a reception the National Holiday of his country, which coincides with the birth of the great general José Gervasio Artigas.

In a short and heartfelt speech, Ambassador Ana Teresa Ayala thanked the support of all institutions that were present at the event.  “Without them, it would be impossible to perform and fulfil the function of public servants”. He also extended his thanks to the Diplomatic Corps, “my dear colleagues the ambassadors, the rest of the diplomatic staff, the consular staff for their support and for the excellent relationship and synergy that we have”.

Finally, he wanted to thank the members of the Uruguayan community who met at the reception.

In the early hours of yesterday, a solemn floral offering was held at the foot of the statue of the General in the West Park of Madrid to which almost all the Latin American ambassadors attended.
