The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, held a videoconference this Tuesday with the Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, as well as other world leaders, to prepare for the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development, which will be held in Seville from June 30 to July 3.
According to a press release from the Spanish government, the meeting was also attended by the presidents of South Africa, Egypt, Kenya, Burundi, and Uruguay; the prime ministers of Jamaica, Nepal, and Barbados; and representatives from Brazil, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, India, and Mexico.
Spain will host the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development, ten years after the Financing for Development Summit held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in 2015. In his address to the other leaders, Pedro Sánchez stated that this new event offers a historic opportunity to jointly address global challenges and represents a starting point for achieving fairer, more ambitious, and more effective cooperation.
