Next Friday, April 25 at 12 o’clock, Casa América, in collaboration with the Real Instituto Elcano, presents in its hall Gabriela Mistral the round table Latin America, 30 years after the Latinobarómetro. Entry by registration in the email actividades@rielcano.org.
The Latin Barometer has become an essential tool for understanding Latin American reality. Its annual in-depth surveys measure the state of public opinion in virtually all countries of the region. Not only that, after 30 years of uninterrupted work, it has been possible to form a homogeneous historical series that gives continuity to our knowledge and shows the evolution of the political and social situation in Latin America over three decades. This will answer questions about what Latin America was like 30 years ago, how it has evolved over that time, or what is happening today, among others.
Will say a welcoming speech León de la Torre Krais, general director of the Casa de América, and Charles Powell, director of the Real Instituto Elcano, who will also moderate the event.
Marta Lagos, founder and executive director, Latinobarómetro; Carmen González Enríquez, principal investigator and director of Public Opinion and Migrations, Real Instituto Elcano; Carlos Malamud, principal investigator, Real Instituto Elcano; Michael Reid, journalist and writer, and Yanina Welp, associate researcher, Albert Hirschman Centre on Democracy.
