On Thursday, 24 April at 11 am, the Fundación Alternativas, in collaboration with a group of leading Ukrainian experts/s, presents a working paper entitled Social and economic reconstruction of Ukraine from the perspective of Social Europe.
The paper aims to identify Ukraine’s needs and facilitate its path towards EU membership, highlighting the importance of the social component in the reconstruction process.
Following the presentation, a colloquium will take place in which key areas such as judicial reform, labour market rules, education, health, social protection systems and the impact of war will be discussed. Following the presentation by Ukrainian experts of the situation in the country, there will be a discussion about international aid and the commitment of Spain and the EU to post war support.
The event will be presented by Vicente Palacio, Director of Foreign Policy of the Fundación Alternativas and in Session 1: Economic and social situation of Ukraine. Impact of war and priorities will be involved Zakhar Popovych, head of the Foresight Institute for Political Economy of Kyiv; Mykhailo Samsonenko, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, and Mariia Sokolova, researcher at the Ukrainian Centre for Law and Crime Research.
