As part of ARCO and for the first time in Spain, the exhibition 100% L’EXPO>Madrid arrives at the gallery of the Instituto Francés in Madrid, a proposal driven by the largest urban park in Europe, open to all cultural practices, La Grande Halle de la Villette in Paris.
This exhibition brings together a selection of works by 9 artists who reside in France and have graduated from the best art schools in the country.
What motivates artists when they leave art school? Do artists born in the third millennium see their role in society as different? What are the challenges facing young artists at the beginning of their careers? Every year, 100% L’EXPO > Madrid explores these issues by opening the doors of the Grande Halle de la Villette in Paris to young French and international artists trained at French art schools. Conceived as a professional springboard and showcase for the emerging scene, 100% L’EXPO > Madrid is, since 2018, an unmissable contemporary art event dedicated to young creative talents.
Gender and its multiple facets, the meeting of personal and historical heritages, our relationship with living beings and the world: these themes reflect the concerns of a new generation of artists in search of identity. They try to disrupt, question and collectively define a new society while continuing their aesthetic and poetic experiments.
The artists exhibiting their works this year are Zoé Chauvet, Luisa Fernanda Ardila Camacho, Carla Gueye, Bérénice Vargas Bravo, Park Chae Dalle, Sofia Salazar Rosales, Héloïse Farago, Anastasia Simonin and Kazuo Marsden.
