From 3 to 18 March, the Instituto Polaco de Cultura in Madrid presents the eleventh edition of Muestra Cine Polska, six films which will be screened at Mk2 Cine PAZ in Madrid (calle Fuencarral, 125) and which in this edition focuses on women’s cinema, highlighting the latest productions directed by talented, established and emerging Polish filmmakers.
Thanks to the collaboration with the Filmoteca Española and the regional Filmotecas, the exhibition will travel to other cities such as Murcia, Granada, Pamplona, Valencia, Zaragoza, Cordoba and Santander.
The cycle has been recognized by both the Spanish public and critics since its creation and is a unique event, as the films presented in this framework have their premiere here in Spain. The titles, translated into Spanish, have never been distributed in Spain. The aim of the Instituto Polaco de Cultura in Madrid, the Polish Film Institute and the producer Tomorrow is to promote outstanding contemporary Polish film directors, with a special emphasis on those who have made few productions or are debuting, with the intention of opening doors to the international market, particularly the Spanish market.
The films scheduled for this cycle are: El lago salado, El grito, Esta no es mi película, El lunes mojado, Donde empezamos and La fiesta del fuego, along with short films by emerging directors (The humpback whale song, The baby, Blind spot, Magma and The ends and beginnings).
