Following the success of previous editions, the Centro Cultural Coreano announces the start of the third edition of the 2025 Short Film Competition, inviting young talents to realize their vision of Korea and explore the richness and diversity of the country through the cinematic language.
The deadline for projects will be effective from Monday 17 February to Sunday 27 July.
The short films presented may be of any genre and aimed at all types of public. They must be original and contain any reference or element related to Korea, as specified in detail in the contest rules.
Originality, narrative and the link to Korea will be particularly valued. All short films must be shot in Spanish and their duration may not exceed 15 minutes (credits included). In the case of other languages, it will be necessary to include subtitles in Spanish. Participation in the contest is completely free. The jury’s decision will be announced in October, during the Korean Film Festival in Spain organized by the Centro Cultural Coreano itself.
The selection process will last approximately one month and a total of three winning works will be chosen. Prizes include (1) round-trip plane tickets between Incheon and Busan, (2) train tickets between Seoul and Busan, (3) accommodation in Busan for 2 nights and 3 days, and visits to cinema-related institutions. The winners’ works will be distributed on the platforms of the Centro Cultural Coreano in Spain.
The director of the Centro Cultural Coreano, Shin Jae-Kwang, has highlighted that this contest is a window to learn more about Korea, giving participants the opportunity to highlight any aspect of the country that arouses their interest.
