On Thursday, 6 February at 11 am, Casa Árabe in Madrid hosts the round table entitled The challenges of migration for the EU, after the Pact on Migration and Asylum, organized by the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, with the participation of the universities of Bologna, Krakow and Leuven, in the framework of the UnaEuropa Winter School. The meeting will analyse the challenges facing European migration policies following the adoption of the New Compact on Immigration and Asylum, which aims to create a framework for managing more effective and flexible immigration, asylum and return policies.
The panel will be attended by Berta Álvarez-Miranda (pictured), professor of sociology at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM) and member of the Study Group on International Migration; Ruth Ferrero Turrión, professor of political science at the UCM; also member of the Study Group on International Migration, and Amparo González-Ferrer, scientific head of the Centre for Human and Social Sciences-CSIC and deputy director of the General Directorate of Reception Routes of the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration. The panel will be moderated by Claudia Finotelli, UCM Professor of Sociology and Co-Director of the Study Group on International Migration.
