On Friday, December 20, at 7 pm, the Fundación Carlos de Amberes will host a Christmas concert by the 1909 Quintet in its auditorium (99, calle Claudio Coello).
In order to spread the chamber music for Spanish guitar, and in a novel and original way, these five guitars (three Spanish, one double bass guitar and one soprano) They will delight the attendees with a wide program that will cover from works and variations of M. D. Pujol or Andrew York to original works of the quintet or a Flemish Rhapsody.
The 1909 Quintet is a project of five performers dedicated to the dissemination of chamber music for guitar, presenting it in an innovative and attractive way. The group stands out for the addition of a double bass guitar and a soprano guitar, in addition to the traditional three Spanish guitars, which expands the sound possibilities and repertoire compared to conventional formations.
Hugo González, soprano guitar and artistic direction; Miguel Ángel Casero, second guitar; Miguel Revuelta, third guitar; Víctor Manuel Casero, fourth guitar, and Óscar López, double bass guitar form the 1909 Quintet, with more than ten years of career, and has been widely praised by critics and the public, receiving several awards, such as the Golden Melon Award in 2024.
