The Colombian Embassy offers 150 study grants to Colombians residing in Spain

The Diplomat The Colombian Embassy in Madrid and the National Open and Distance University (UNAD) in the European Union have announced a program to offer 150 educational grants to the Colombian community residing in Spain. The “Study Grant Program” was announced on May 28 in Madrid by the Colombian Ambassador to Spain, Eduardo Ávila Navarrete, and the Rector of the Colombian public university UNAD, Jaime Alberto Leal Afanador. According to the Embassy, the program includes a total of 150 educational grants, distributed among professional skills courses and foreign language training programs, with the aim of facilitating access to flexible, high-quality education with an international focus. The programs offer dual certification, valid in both Colombia (from UNAD) and Spain (from EUDE and the José Ortega y Gasset-Gregorio Marañón Foundation), thus strengthening the academic and professional profile of participants in national and international contexts. The courses will focus on areas in high demand in the Spanish and European job market, including digital marketing, leadership, innovation, digital storytelling, Big Data, web development, organizational management, and language training in English, French, Italian, Mandarin, Portuguese, and Catalan. The program is offered under UNAD's virtual and flexible education model, a Colombian public institution recognized for its leadership in distance education and digital transformation, with more than 380,000 students and an international presence. Likewise, UNAD European Union has consolidated in recent years an important work of academic support to Colombians residing in Europe, training more than 3,000 compatriots through official, technological, language programs and continuing education courses developed in partnership with European universities and institutions.
