Madrid hosts the second Invest in Spain Summit this Monday, the leading foreign investment forum in Spain

The Diplomat Madrid will host the second edition of the Invest in Spain Summit this Monday, April 27. This leading foreign investment forum in Spain will bring together 75 international companies from 25 countries, all with active investments or potential projects in Spain. The opening ceremony will be presided over by the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, and will also include the participation of the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Trade and Business, Carlos Cuerpo, along with several other ministers and senior government officials. The closing ceremony will be presided over by King Felipe VI and will take place in the Royal Collections Gallery. The event will bring together high-ranking government representatives and CEOs of international companies to analyze global trends, identify new opportunities, and promote investment projects in Spain. During the summit, 170 bilateral meetings are scheduled between investors and representatives from nine ministries, as well as councilors from all the autonomous communities. The first edition, inaugurated by the King, demonstrated the firm institutional commitment to attracting and promoting foreign direct investment. Nearly one hundred multinational companies from 25 countries were convened for the forum's inaugural event, where they discussed Spain's advantages as a strategic destination for international investment. This Friday, the Secretary of State for Trade, Amparo López Senovilla, stated during the event's presentation that, in its first edition, the forum facilitated projects valued at over €4.4 billion and generated more than 4,500 skilled jobs. "It is likely that these figures will increase" in this edition, she added. The majority of participating companies are from the United States (19), China (eight), and Japan (seven), although there will also be companies from France (five), the United Kingdom (four), the Netherlands, India, Germany, Argentina, and Italy (two each). Regarding sectors, information and communication technology (ICT) companies predominate, totaling 18; followed by energy (ten), life sciences (nine), sustainable mobility (nine), and capital goods (seven). Invest in Spain is an executive division of ICEX Spain Export and Investment, a public business entity of the State Secretariat for Trade within the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Business. Its mission is to promote foreign direct investment (FDI) in Spain and support entrepreneurs and businesses wishing to establish their companies in Spain.
