The Instituto Cultural de México organizes two activities with the Mexican weaver of the Amuzga nation, Victorina López Hilario.
Tomorrow at 12 o’clock in the exhibition hall of the Instituto Cervantes (Alcalá, 49), will take place the event Weaving stories, in which Victorina will weave live and share with the attendees her work and the ancestral tradition that accompanies her craft. Activation will accompany the exhibition La mitad del mundo. La mujer en el México indígena. Historias tejadas.
Also, on Friday, March 13 at 6 p.m., the Fundación Marso Madrid (San Mateo, 17) presents the conference Ñomndaa. Lengua viva del México indígena, which will feature the participation of Victorina López Hilario and Jaziel de Jesús López. The meeting proposes an approach to the vitality of the Ñomndaa language and the cultural practices that support it in the context of indigenous Mexico. At the end, a sample of the product made by Victorina will be taken.
The activation and conference are part of the program of activities that the Embassy of Mexico, through the Instituto Cultural de México and The Americas Research Network (ARENET) carry out for the closure of the exhibition La mitad del mundo. La mujer en el México indígena.
