The Jesús Campoamor room of the Arts Center (Francisco Vives Avenue, 3) in the town of Azuqueca de Henares in the province of Guadalajara hosts the exhibition Humanity at War, which can be visited until March 14 in this space.
The Guadalajara Solidarity Film Festival (Fescigu) and Cruz Roja have organized this exhibition that travels through photographs of more than 150 years of armed conflicts, from the American Civil War to the wars and humanitarian crises of the early twenty-first century.
The photojournalist James Nachtwey, Princess of Asturias Award for Communication and Humanities 2016, has been in charge of selecting the images and writing the texts that accompany the exhibition. Considered one of the great references of contemporary photojournalism, he has covered more than 30 conflicts in five decades of professional career, always from a perspective focused on human dignity.
The exhibition covers 150 years of conflicts, from 1860 to those of the twenty-first century, and offers a reflection on what remains of humanity in the midst of war: gestures of solidarity, resistance and hope that survive even in the most devastating scenarios.
