The Council of Ministers appointed diplomat Daniel Losada Millar as Special Envoy to Sudan on Tuesday, February 24, at the proposal of Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares, according to the Official State Gazette (BOE).
A graduate in Law and Business Administration from the Comillas Pontifical University ICAI-ICADE E3 (2005-2011) and a member of the Diplomatic Corps since 2014, Daniel Losada began his career at the central services of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Madrid, as Head of Service in the Minister’s Office (2014-2015) and, in two separate periods, as Technical Advisor in the Minister’s Office (between October and December 2015 and between May and July 2016).
His first posting abroad was as Counselor at the Spanish Embassy in Kabul (from December 2015 to May 2016). Subsequently, he served as Deputy Head of Mission at the Spanish Embassy in Baghdad (from August 2016 to July 2018), First Secretary at the Spanish Embassy in Mexico (from August 2018 to July 2021), and Consul General of Spain in Lagos (from August 2021 to July 2023).
In August 2023, he returned to the central services of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as an advisor to the Cabinet of the Secretary of State for Ibero-America and the Caribbean and Spanish in the World. Finally, from December of that same year until the present, he has served as Director of the Cabinet of the Secretary of State for Ibero-America and the Caribbean and Spanish in the World.
