In collaboration with the Embassy of Romania, the Museum of the Municipality of Bucharest and the Municipal Council of Retiro-City of Madrid, and on the occasion of the Day of Romanian Culture, the Instituto Rumano de Cultura presents this afternoon at 6 pm in the Exhibition Room Maruja Mallo (Daoíz Square and Velarde 2) the exposition Bucharest: maps in motion.
The event will be held in the presence of Dr. Adrian Majuru, manager, and Dr. Dan Pîrvulescu, director of the Bucharest Municipal Museum. The exhibition offers an evolutionary look at Bucharest, from its historical development, reflected in the documentary material provided by the Museum of the Municipality of Bucharest, to the contemporary image of the capital, captured by photographer Dragoș Asaftei. The visitor will discover a Bucharest of the Belle Époque and a current Bucharest living in the same space: two centuries of history of the city told through its streets, its transformations and the lives of those who live there. A city always in motion, fascinating and full of life.
The Institute invites you to visit Bucharest, the city that inspired the pages of Mircea Eliade, Ioana Pârvulescu, Mircea Cărtărescu and many other writers. Confirmation of attendance at the opening is required in this email: icrmadrid@icr.ro.
