‘Palestine. Chronicle of a genocide’, by Enrique Olaya Gil

Author: Enrique Olaya Gil.

The Embassy of Palestine (calle Pío XII, 20), presented yesterday the book Palestina, crónica de un genocidio (Palestine. Chronicle of a genocide), by Enrique Olaya, in an event attended by the presentation of the Palestinian ambassador Husni Abdel Wahed and the Minister of Youth and Children, Sira Rego. The event was presented by journalist and writer Miguel Ángel San Juan.

Enrique Olaya is a contemporary Spanish author and analyst, known mainly for his work as a writer and his focus on geopolitical and social issues.

Palestine. Chronicle of a genocide retraces, with documentary rigor and direct prose, the events that have devastated Gaza and marked an entire generation of Palestinians. From 7 October 2023 until today, the book contrasts verified figures, resolutions, testimonies and the role of international actors -USA. the US, the EU, the UN- to show how collective punishment has normalized before the eyes of the world. Far from the slogan, Enrique Olaya proposes a clear map: what happened, who decided, what was hidden and what would be necessary to stop the machinery of impunity. An awkward and necessary text that returns names and memory to those who have been reduced to statistics.
