This Friday, January 9, Song Sung Blue – Song for Two, directed by Craig Brewer (Footloose, Hustle & Flow), opens exclusively in theaters.

The film, which tells the story of a tribute band to Neil Diamond, stars Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson, who was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for her performance in the category of Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy.

Based on a true story, the film tells the story of two musicians of little fortune (Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson) who are eager to form a tribute band to Neil Diamond, proving that it is never too late to find love and fulfill your dreams.

Neil Diamond is the author and performer of classics such as Sweet Caroline, Cracklin’ Rosie, Song Sung Blue, I Am… I Said, America, Love on the Rocks or September Morn, apart from the soundtrack of the film Juan Salvador Gaviota (Jonathan Livingston Seagull).

Prolific composer, before his fame as a soloist he wrote great hits for other artists, the most notable being I’m a Believer for The Monkees.

Born in Brooklin in 1941, Neil Diamond has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (2011) and the Composers’ Hall of Fame (1984). In 2018, he received the Grammy Award for Artistic Career. The film trailer can be viewed on YouTube.
