Casa América shows on Fridays and Saturdays from 5 to 20 December (except tomorrow 6) at 7.30 pm the feature film Zafari, by the Venezuelan filmmaker Mariana Rondón.
With an important tour of international festivals, including the Festival de San Sebastián (Horizontes Latinos) and SANFIC de Chile (Special Jury Mention and Best Actress award), Zafari is played by Daniela Ramírez, Francisco Denis and Samantha Castillo.
In a small zoo, neighbors from opposing social classes celebrate the arrival of Zafari, the hippo. Ana, Edgar and their son Bruno watch everything from the window of their dilapidated upper-class building. Amid shortages of food, water and electricity, Ana collects food in the abandoned apartments while the family finds a way to escape. In an increasingly wild world, Zafari is the only one left with food.
