Furthermore,</strong></h4> According to the Tourist Movement at Borders Statistics (FRONTUR) for October, published this Wednesday, December 3, the number of tourists visiting Spain increased by 3.5 percent in the first ten months of 2025 compared to the previous year, reaching almost 85.7 million. This is the highest figure in the INE's FRONTUR series. The main countries of origin during that period were the United Kingdom (with more than 17.1 million and an increase of 3.9%), France (with almost 11.4 million and a decrease of 0.1%), and Germany (with nearly 10.8 million, a 0.8% increase). Regarding destinations, in the first ten months of 2025, the regions that received the most tourists were Catalonia (17.8 million and an increase of 1.0% compared to the same period in 2024), the Balearic Islands (15.3 million and an increase of 2.5%), and Andalusia (13.0 million, a 6.9% increase). Furthermore, the Tourist Expenditure Survey (EGATUR), also published this Wednesday by the INE (National Statistics Institute), indicates that, during the first ten months of 2025, total spending by international tourists increased by 7.0 percent, reaching 118,612 million euros. During the same period, the United Kingdom accounted for the largest share of accumulated spending (17.9% of the total). Germany (11.8%) and France (8.8%) followed. The regions with the highest accumulated spending were Catalonia (18.5% of the total), the Balearic Islands (17.3%), and the Canary Islands (16.8%). Both the Statistics on Tourist Movements at Borders and the Tourist Expenditure Survey are based on the international definitions and recommendations of the UN Tourism Council and Eurostat in these areas.
