Casa Árabe, the School of Translators of Toledo (UCLM) and the State Agency Official Gazette of the State present this morning at 11.30 the new bilingual edition of the Spanish-Arabic Constitution, result of the collaboration between the three institutions, with a text revised by translators from different backgrounds and legal schools. Registration to attend this link.

The edition is a revised version of the two previous ones made by the School of Translators of Toledo in 2012. The legal terminology has been revised by its translator, Mourad Zarrouk, professor of Hispanic Studies at the University of Casablanca, in order to adapt it to a geographical spectrum that is as wide and neutral as possible within the Arab countries, with the assistance of a second translator, Fathi Mohammed Fathi Al-Hayani, Professor of Public International Law at the University of Mosul and Director of the Centre for the Consolidation of Peace and Peaceful Coexistence at that university, under the coordination of Luis Miguel Pérez Cañada, Professor at the University of Castilla-La Mancha and director of translation and publishing programmes at the School of Translators in Toledo.

The work, published in the Legal Codes Collection of the State Agency Official Gazette of the State, is available in print-on-demand mode and free download in digital format (PDF), on the website of the aforementioned State Agency Official Gazette of the State, open to all citizens.

The presentation, in addition to having the participation of the institutions that endorse this new edition, will have the interventions of Yolanda Gómez Sánchez, professor of Constitutional Law and Jean Monnet, ad personam of the EU at UNED, and Tamara El Khoury, professor of Comparative Constitutional Law at IE University and executive director of the Arab Association of Constitutional Law, who will analyze the value and relevance of the Spanish Constitution for Arab citizenship, both in Spain and in other Arab countries, when addressing aspects and problems common to the configuration of these states, such as territorial management or linguistic minorities, in which it may constitute a reference to be taken into account.

The publication of this new bilingual Spanish-Arabic revised edition seeks to offer the general and specialized public a useful tool in the exercise of comparative constitutional law, institutional cooperation and sharing of experiences between Spain and countries.

The presentation will be opened by Miguel Moro Aguilar, director general of Casa Árabe; Manuel Tuero Secades, director of the State Agency Official Gazette; José Julián Garde López-Brea, rector of UCLM (to be confirmed); and Carmen Burguillo Burgos, Technical Secretary-General of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation.
