Until next November 23, Fundación Casa de Mexico celebrates the Week of Zapopan: culture, tradition and gastronomy of the Mexican west in Madrid, with a wide cultural, artistic and gastronomic programming. Zapopan, home to four FIFA 2026 World Cup matches, is positioned as a strategic destination for culture, innovation and international sports tourism.

The program includes the unveiling of the Virgin of Zapopan, symbol of identity and devotion Jalisciense, as well as workshops of popular art Wixárika, gastronomic samples, cinema and tastings of tequila and craft beer.

The opening ceremony will include the unveiling of the Virgin of Zapopan in the main lobby of Fundación Casa de Mexico, in the presence of Juan José Frangie Saade, mayor of Zapopan; Quirino Ordaz Coppel, ambassador of Mexico to Spain, and Ximena Caraza Campos, General Director of the Fundación Casa de México in Spain. This event will mark the beginning of a week dedicated to sharing with the Spanish public the cultural, artisanal and gastronomic diversity of western Mexico.

For seven days, visitors can enjoy a program open to all audiences that includes workshops on popular art Wixárika, gastronomic experiences with guest chefs, film screenings, colloquia, children’s activities, guided tours and tastings.
