The Council of Ministers authorized on Tuesday a contribution of six million euros to the Spanish Cooperation Fund for Water and Sanitation in Latin America and the Caribbean (FECASALC) to finance projects related to this area.
The contribution to FECASALC, a trust fund established within the framework of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), will be made from the Cooperation Fund for Water and Sanitation (FCAS), a financial instrument of Spanish development cooperation to promote and improve access to water and sanitation services for citizens of Latin American countries.
At the FCAS Executive Committee meeting on October 6, 2025, a contribution of six million euros to FECASALC was approved to strengthen access to water, a just ecological transition, adaptation to climate change, support for the Amazon, and the reinforcement of sustainability in the region.
