The Romanian Embassy, together with the Instituto Cultural Rumano and the Madrid district of Chamberí, is organising Romanian Cinema Evenings, a series of three meetings with contemporary Romanian cinema, one of the most vibrant and award-winning forms of European cinema. Free admission until capacity is full.
The three cultural evenings will take place at the Centro Cinematográfico Galileo (calle Galileo, 100) throughout this month of October, on days 10, 17 and 24, and will include three recent productions (in original version with subtitles in Spanish) illustrating the diversity and quality of cinema currently being produced in Romania, as follows:
October 10: The secret of Pin-Up Island, directed by Alecs Năstoiu, is a cinematic proposal of great visual and thematic originality. The film tackles anxiety, depression and personal resistance with great subtlety, becoming a powerful metaphor for inner struggle. It lasts 1 h 46 min.
October 17: The King’s War is a deeply moving and revealing documentary that takes up the decisive role of King Michael I of Romania at a crucial moment in World War II. The film has a duration of 1 h 49 min.
October 24: The Good Boys Go to Paradise is a brilliant and melancholy romantic comedy written and directed by Radu Potcoavă. A story about unexpressed love, second chances and the paradises that are built with memories. The film has a duration of 1h 25min.
