From today until next Friday, September 26, Casa América celebrates the most important literary festival in Central America, Central America Cuenta.
It was founded in Managua in 2013 by the Nicaraguan writer Sergio Ramírez, winner of the 2017 Cervantes prize, to contribute to the dissemination of Ibero-American literature. Two editions are held each year, the first semester in a Central American or Caribbean country and the second in Madrid. Until 2017, its headquarters was in Nicaragua. As of 2019, editions have been held in Costa Rica, Guatemala, Spain, the Dominican Republic and Panama.
