Total international tourist spending through July amounted to €76.07 billion, representing a 7.2% increase compared to the same period in 2024, according to data published by the National Statistics Institute (INE).

Regarding the number of international tourists arriving in Spain in these first seven months of 2025, the figure exceeds 55.5 million, representing a 4.1% increase compared to the same period last year. These data, according to the Government, reflect the continued upward trend in international visitor spending over arrivals, the growth of which has moderated in the last three months.

In the first seven months of 2025, the United Kingdom was the country with the highest cumulative spending (17.6% of the total), followed by Germany (11.7%) and France (8.1%). On the other hand, the autonomous communities with the highest cumulative spending are the Canary Islands (18.5% of the total), Catalonia (18.2%), and the Balearic Islands (15.3%).

The main source countries in the first seven months of the year were the United Kingdom (with almost 11 million tourists, a 4.3% increase compared to the same period in 2024), France (with more than 7.1 million, a 1.7% increase), and Germany (with more than 6.9 million, a 1.6% increase). The main destinations for the year to date are Catalonia (11.6 million tourists, a 1.1% increase); the Canary Islands (9.1 million, a 4.3% increase), and the Balearic Islands (9 million, a 3.2% increase).
