The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, chaired the meeting of the National Security Council on Monday, during which the National Strategy against Organized Crime and Serious Crime 2025 and the National Aerospace Security Strategy were approved.
According to a press release from Moncloa, the meeting began with an analysis of the situation regarding the conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine and addressed the National Plan against the Financing of the Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction, which must be submitted to the Council of Ministers for approval.
The meeting was attended by the First Vice President and Minister of Finance, María Jesús Montero; the Second Vice President and Minister of Labor and Social Economy, Yolanda Díaz; the Third Vice President of the Government and Minister for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, Sara Aagesen; the Minister of the Presidency, Justice, and Parliamentary Relations, Félix Bolaños; Minister of Defense, Margarita Robles; Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska; Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Óscar Puente; Minister of Industry and Tourism, Jordi Hereu; Minister of Health, Mónica García; Minister of Science, Innovation, and Universities, Diana Morant; and Minister for Digital Transformation and Public Service, Óscar López.
Also in attendance were Director of the Office of the President of the Government, Diego Rubio; State Secretary for Communication, Lydia del Canto; State Secretary for Foreign and Global Affairs, Diego Martínez; Chief of the Defense Staff, Teodoro Esteban; State Secretary and Director of the National Intelligence Center, Esperanza Casteleiro; State Secretary for Security, Aina Calvo; and Director of the Department of National Security, Loreto Gutiérrez.
