The best summer cinema can be enjoyed in the Plaza de España from tomorrow Saturday to 14 September thanks to the new edition of La Estival.
The location becomes the epicenter of Madrid’s film culture becoming a great summer cinema surrounded by a Summer Market and a spectacular terrace with gastronomy area.
The summer cinema is sponsored by Santalucía Seguros and has a screen of more than 100 square meters and 800 seats with a varied offer that presents three major values: culture, gastronomy and solidarity monologues and shows.
The July cinema programme combines current and premiere titles with cult films such as Luc Besson’s The Fifth Element (1997) starring Bruce Willis, Milla Jovovich and Gary Oldman; La Substance (2024) with a cast led by Demi Moore, Margaret Qualley and Dennis Quaid; Cinema Paradiso (1988) written and directed by Giuseppe Tornatore; F1 (2025) starring Brad Pitt; Jurassic World: the rebirth (2025) with Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey; Conclave (2024) with Ralph Fiennes and Stanley Tucci; The Great Lebowski (1998) of the Coen brothers; the new film by Lilo & Stitch (2025); or the new adaptation of Superman (2025) with David Corenswet.
The program also includes shows of magic and comedy as is the case of La magia de Jorge Blass, where the illusionist presents new and surprising illusions in show for the whole family; and the monologue of Jordi Merca that carries by name I survived the EGB. The month of July comes to a close with the screening of Pulp Fiction (1994), Quentin Tarantino’s classic, which features performances by John Travolta, Uma Thurman, Samuel L. Jackson, Harvey Keitel, Bruce Willis and Tim Roth, among others.
The audio is transmitted through wireless stereo headphones with the possibility to choose the language of projection (V.o.S.E. / V.e.) which allows this experience to be accessible for both national citizens and tourists. Spanish subtitles in all films.
In addition, you can enjoy the dining area and the participation of dj’s in the meadow area on Fridays and Saturdays with free access for all public. And to complete the offer, outside the cinema area, there is an exhibition of local crafts with a Summer Market (summer market) that brings together 14 to 20 stands similar to those on the beach.
