As part of the international guitar festival in Madrid, next Thursday at 7.30 pm, the Instituto Francés de Madrid will receive the duo Arnaud Thorette et Gaëlle Solal and their project Hope. Tickets can be purchased at this link.
Music has often enabled human beings to position themselves in the face of society and major political events, but also in the face of spirituality and great inner issues. The HOPE programme, conceived by Arnaud Thorette and Gaëlle Solal, brings together works which express hope: spiritual hope, identity hope, political hope, hope for a new world.
This project is part of a humanist perspective. It can be associated with all kinds of mediation actions aimed at the young generations, especially through work with choral singing, as well as school interventions addressing issues such as revolt and oppression.
Gaëlle Solal, born in 1978 in Marseille, is a renowned classical guitarist. He started playing the guitar at 6 and, at 14, he won three gold medals at the Conservatoire de Marseille. Winner of numerous international competitions, has played in more than 40 countries and has taught at the conservatories of Cordoba and Seville. Committed to the visibility of women in the world of guitar, she founded the association Guitar’Elles.
