The Diplomat
The causes and consequences of Trump’s tariffs were the protagonists of the meeting held by The Diplomat and the Asociación de Diplomáticos Extranjeros (ADE) last Wednesday at the Hotel Meliá Princesa in Madrid.
This time the rapporteur was Ángel Rodríguez, professor of Economic Analysis, current director of the School of Economic Intelligence and International Relations at the Autonomous University of Madrid, and national expert seconded to the European Responsible for monitoring exchange rates.
Professor Rodriguez is a true reference in the field, as can be seen from his curriculum vitae, and explained in detail the causes for which Donald Trump has implemented his economic decision to other countries in different measures and the consequences that, it seems, may have in the future, both globally and in the American economy and people.
The event was attended by more than 30 foreign diplomats, who kept asking the professor after he finished his presentation. Really, this was one of the most interesting and content-rich gatherings organized by The Diplomat.
It is announced that the next appointment will be on 9 July, in the same place, Hotel Meliá Princesa, and at the same time, 18 hours, and the topic to be treated will be The history of the Borbones in Spain, which will be exposed by the professor of History of Spain of the CEU University, Cristina Barreiro.
The Diplomat’s Tertulias have been held regularly for years and address different aspects of politics, economy and society in Spain and abroad. Its objective is to offer foreign diplomats different approaches and points of view on aspects of the Spanish and world reality, under the condition of strict confidentiality of what is discussed in the room.
