Within the cycle In Scena A Palazzo, the Instituto Italiano de Cultura of Madrid presents on Wednesday 28 May at 8 pm, the show by Marco Baliani entitled Body of State. Moro crime: a divided generation.
On the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of the death of Aldo Moro, first broadcast live on RAI 2 on 9 May 1998 from the Imperial Forums in Rome, Baliani’s theatrical account is reconstructed and questioned in a clear and honest way on those days, with the need to understand and not miss the sense and meaning of justice. A portrait of a symbol of power that has suddenly become too uncomfortable, and a country stunned and confused by the succession of statements and denials. A man imprisoned in a struggle between factions, the Red Brigades and the political class of the time, who through him put his terminal political game in check.
State body. The Moro crime: a divided generation, taken from Baliani’s book published by Rizzoli in 2003, is a historical portrait and dramatic experience of impact, inspired by Aldo Moro’s 55-day detention. A document and a relaxed and open portrait of a generation that, faced with the tragedy of conscience, was divided. But also the story of a man of theatre, who precisely in those years began the profession of actor.
Marco Baliani is an actor, author and director. With the 1989 Kohlhaas show, through an original research tour, he brings to life the narrative theatre that marks the Italian theatrical scene. Eclectic and complex figure, has experienced choral dramaturgy creating shows-event such as Come gocce di una fiumana (IDI award for direction), or Antigone delle città, on the massacre of Bologna on 2 August, o leading projects such as I porti del Mediterraneo with actors from different countries in the Mediterranean area.
