The Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) has launched a refresh of its institutional website in accordance with the AECID Technological Transformation Plan 2022-2025.
According to the agency in a press release, updating the AECID institutional website (www.aecid.es) was one of the lines of work within the AECID Technological Transformation Plan 2022-2025, aligned with the AECID Action Plan 2022-2023 and developed within the context of the Spain Digital Agenda 2026, the Public Administration Digitalization Plan 2021-2025, and the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan.
The first phase of the renovation consisted of a complete overhaul of the website’s design, with more accessible menus that allow for better navigation. The result, according to AECID, is “a more intuitive and much cleaner design, organizing content through more visual resources, such as drop-down menus and link buttons.”
In addition, the website of the Cooperation Fund for Water and Sanitation (FCAS) has been integrated into the institutional website, and some areas of the agency, such as the National Commission for UNESCO, have been given greater visibility. Another new feature is the creation of new tabs, such as the one showing the history of our headquarters.
To complete this process of revamping the institutional portal, the agency is currently working on a second phase of revamping the web content, seeking to create more accessible and understandable texts, thus improving transparency and interaction with citizens. This process, which has already begun, will be implemented gradually and will culminate in a few months, with all AECID Directorates involved in revamping and making the content more accessible to citizens.
The institutional website renovation was carried out by the Subdirectorate of Technology and Digital Transformation (STTD), with support for the coordination of the entire process from the Communications and Networks Division of the AECID Technical Office.
