The Embassy of Uruguay presents next Wednesday, May 14 at 11 am in the Inca Garcilaso room of Casa América their participation in the 48th International Festival of Classical Theater of Almagro, the largest international meeting of theater of the Golden Age, Held this year from 3 to 27 July.

On this occasion, Uruguay will be represented by the Teatro El Galpón, which will perform the play El perro del hortelano, by Lope de Vega. Please confirm at uruespana@mrree.gub.uy.

The Almagro Festival is the world’s largest center of theatrical creation and thought of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries in the Hispanic world, which is known by our Golden Ages. The Renaissance and the Baroque were a fertile period for Spanish culture and language, and they built a world view, an aesthetic and a rich rhetoric, unique in history.
