Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized at the opening of Expo Iran 2025 that the event, which is celebrating its seventh edition this week, aims to “showcase Iran’s export capabilities” to the world and present a “safe and beautiful” image of the country, according to information provided to The Diplomat by the Iranian Embassy in Spain.
In front of more than 3,000 businesspeople from 110 countries and representatives of 800 Iranian companies, the Iranian president emphasized that the objective of Expo Iran 2025—”the largest economic event of the year in this country”—is to “promote the growth of economic foundations with the participating countries, allowing us to grow together, creating a window for exports.”
Among the participating countries, there is a notable African and Asian presence, which see collaboration with Iran as an opportunity to strengthen their respective commercial capacities, leveraging Iran’s expertise in fields such as petrochemicals, mining, and the agri-food industry.
In addition to the aforementioned objectives, Expo Iran aims to create a space for establishing business connections between Iranian and foreign companies, both from the private and public sectors, with the ultimate goal of also boosting mutual investment.
